Do you like connecting with and supporting other students? Do you enjoy problem-solving with a team to generate creative solutions?
The Compas and Academic Recovery Program is seeking Peer Academic Coaches (PACs) to support cohorts of approximately 35 first-year students in our academic support classes. As a PAC, you meet with students during monthly 1-on-1 coaching sessions and serve as a teaching assistant for a face-to-face section of SUU 1050: College Student Success or a face-to-face or online section of SUU 1060: Academic Wellness.
PACs assist students to develop habits and skills that promote resilience, confidence, and self-directed learning.
Such skills include:
- Clarifying academic goals and taking practical steps to achieve these goals
- Building motivation, self-confidence, and accountability
- Implementing routines for organization and time management
- Strengthening study skills (i.e. reading comprehension, note-taking, review, and test-taking strategies)
- Accessing resources
- Adapting to new challenges

Qualifications:
- Sophomore status or higher
- 3.00 GPA or higher
- Full-time student at SUU
- Minimum of one semester completed at SUU prior to Spring 2025
- FERPA training and certification required upon hire
